A vixens hoofbeats pounded into the earth, causing the ground before her to shake. Her wild black mane flew around, never touching her face, but never remaining still. Her black eyes swam over the earth, checking every feature. Her auds were pinned to the back of her head. Her nostrils flared as she sniffed the air, snorting it out again. She screamed, it was enough to shatter glass, and to break eardrums. A dark could stand it, but a light just might die. She knew the only light that had ever withstood it, her twin, Leila.
